A Rainy Day Turned into a Beautiful and Romantic Wedding in Southern Pines

A rainy day turned into a beautiful and romantic wedding in Southern Pines for Keri and Jamy. The rain didn’t stop this rock-n-roll couple from having the best day of their lives.

While the ceremony was supposed to be held outside at the Village of Pinehurst Arboretum, it began raining just before the start time. We had to go to “Plan B”: under the portico! However, Keri and Jamy didn’t let it affect their spirits and had the sweetest ceremony.

Not too long after, the skies cleared and gave way to awesome weather. Keri and Jamy were able to explore downtown Southern Pines and get amazing photos.

Originally a cargo train station, 305 Trackside is a unique venue located in historic downtown Southern Pines. Twice a day, Amtrak trains still rush by blowing their whistles and catching the eyes of all who are downtown. Keri and Jamy even got to see the train flash by during the reception. It was quite a hit with the crowd!

Jack Hadden Floral and Event Design transformed the space by using lush greenery hanging from the wooden rafters and entrance door into the reception space. In addition to an array of white flowers and lavender roses, greenery lined the tables in romantic runners. Keri’s bouquet was a loose and organic blend of ruscus, ranunculus, and roses.

We worked with Keri and Jamy to design a soft, romantic feel using white linens with gray napkins, and touches of lavender throughout the design. Lanterns that the bride picked out added soft lighting to the guests while eating.

Another special treat was the incredible meal from Elliot’s Catering of Pinehurst. Focusing on farm to table cuisine, the menu was a hit with all the guests. Local pork belly with collard greens and roasted chicken with potatoes gave out-of-town guests a perfect taste of the South. From lemon cookies to mini pecan pies, the dessert table was surrounded by guests the entire night!

Pinehurst Photography captured each moment of the day perfectly. Ward Productions not only provided music that the crowd danced to all night, but the company also used white drape inside the venue to soften the industrial brick walls.
