For Devin and Tyler, celebrating ten years of marriage deserved nothing less than a fun-filled getaway with family & friends, and Sandals Ochi Rios All-Inclusive Resort in Jamaica proved to be the perfect paradise. The couple chose this lush, tropical resort not just for its beauty, but for the vibrant atmosphere that made their tropical vow renewal weekend absolutely unforgettable.   

Planning An Unforgettable Vow Renewal Weekend with Vision Events

Devin met Nicole with Vision Events at another wedding in Pinehurst, NC where Nicole was serving as the couple’s luxury wedding planner. This is where Nicole and Devin sparked a partnership that soon blossomed into planning every detail, logistics, as well as guest travel and accommodations to bring this 10-year vow-renewal celebration to life.  

All-Inclusive, Adventurous Experiences at Sandals Ocho Rios

There was no shortage of fun and entertainment. Leading up to the Vow Renewal Day, guests relaxed by the pools and beach, playing games and activities with the resort staff, enjoying the all-inclusive dining experience along with the nightly entertainment. Devin & Tyler wanted to share the same love they have for Jamaica with their guests by incorporating as many island experiences as possible. Nicole, the wedding planner, booked a few guests to explore off-property to experience the Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios.

A Tropical Themed Welcome Party to Kick Off the Weekend

The festivities kicked off with a private welcome party where guests were greeted by the rhythmic sounds of a steel drum band. This set a joyful tone for the weekend, letting everyone ease into the island spirit. The welcome party was more than just a meet-and-greet; it brought everyone together in a fun, relaxed way. Devin wanted to incorporate some island flair here, so we chose a tropical linen pattern for the cocktail tables and an old canoe for the bottled beers. 

Rum and Game Night for Guests 

Devin & Tyler wanted something fun and engaging for their guests to do, so they hosted a Rum and Game night the next night. The guests were greeted with the Rum Bar, which had a variety of Jamaican rums to try, many of which are signatures to the island. The games were led by the Resort Staff, where you truly needed to know your Jamaica Trivia, or there might be consequences that involve shots of rum!  

Getting Ready for the Vow Renewal Ceremony

When the day of the vow renewal arrived, Devin spent the morning at the Sandals Spa with her girls getting wedding day glam. Tyler spent time with their son in the private pool of their suite, then joined their friends to get ready. The signature Sandals Wedding Chariot picked Devin up and took her to the ceremony. Adorned with intricate flower appliqué, her veil was a showstopper. 

An Intimate Sunset Vow Renewal Ceremony

The ceremony was as beautiful as the Caribbean sunset. Devin and Tyler exchanged their personal vows surrounded by their closest family and friends, with the gentle ocean breeze adding a touch of natural elegance. Their words to each other touched the hearts of all; there was not a dry eye. But quickly, those happy tears were wiped away, and guests were whisked off to the reception by the resort transportation team to the other side of the resort, where they were greeted with Tyler & Devin’s Signature cocktails: Hugo Spritz, Aperol Spritz, and Strawberry Lemonade Mocktail. 

Custom Cocktails & Fire Dancers at the Lush Tropical Reception  

For the reception, Devin chose tropical leaves & flowers as centerpieces and custom table number coconuts.  The wedding package included white table linens, and Nicole brought the tropical-pattern linen napkins from Nuage to continue the lush tropical feel. As the evening unfolded, the celebration turned into a spectacular island party. Guests were dazzled by fire dancers who lit up the night, making the reception feel like a true island festival.

One of the most personal touches of the night was the interactive coconut stand with custom coconuts engraved with Devin and Tyler’s names and their vow renewal date. The staff would cut the tops off right in front of them, revealing fresh coconut water. Topped with green & white stripe straws and drink umbrellas, leaving a memorable element to the celebration.
