Jessi & George’s NC Winter Woodland Wedding was a unique setting at The Meadows at Firefly Farm. This was a blended wedding as Jessi has 2 kids and George has 1. They wanted to incorporate their kids into the union. So Jessi’s daughter, Journey, was the Maid of Honor & Jessi’s son, Dylan, was the best man. George’s daughter was the bridesmaid and Jessi’s neice was the flower girl. Jessi & George wanted a wedding that showed their love for family & friends by keeping it close and personal. A small intimate ceremony under stringed lights in the woods as guests sat on fresh cut logs from the farm, Jessi & George exchanged vows in front of a large wreath wrapped in florals. Jessi’s nephew, the ring bearer carried the ring box crafted & carved by a family member. J & G were carved in the top and their wedding date carved on the bottom.
Special gifts Jessi & George gave the kids were leather bracelets with the exact coordinates and date of the wedding day to symbolize when they all became a family. Being a December wedding it was a little chilly out so Jessi & her girls wore beautiful stoles and the guests were welcomed with the option to take a blanket to keep them from the cold.
This wedding was the VERY FIRST wedding to be held at the Meadows at Firefly Farm. ! We planned it perfectly! Tables were long, perfect for family style seating and a square farm table just for the bride & groom. Toasts were made by their children. Journey, Jessi’s daughter, sang George & Jessi’s first dance song. She had never sang in front of a crowd but she chose to sing for them! It was the most beautiful thing! So sweet, special, & memorable. She sang the Adele version of Make you Feel my Love. It was truly a special moment! Even George broke out the harmonica to play along with musician! Jessi’s colors were a deep red with pops of greenery & white and touches of gray. Hence her new last name will be Gray!
I will say Jessi was very apprehensive to hire a planner for her wedding day because she thought it would be small and intimate and there wouldn’t be a need. She quickly realized that even a small event needs to have the support of a planner. We guided her with the right choices for the design of her wedding and we collaborated with our rental stylist from the Greenhouse Picker Sisters to create the NC Winter Woodland Wedding she imagined! At the end of the night close friends remained around the fire toasting to good times while strumming their guitars. All was well!
