The Wed Local Sanford, NC Campaign is the culmination of two years of planning by Vision Events owner Nicole Smith. Smith has her hand in many wonderful weddings from Raleigh to Pinehurst, but often sees local couples go outside of her hometown of Sanford, NC for their wedding needs. Smith recognized the many local options in Sanford for weddings and wanted to help others see this vision. In an effort to showcase all Sanford has to offer, Smith recently spearheaded the Wed Local Sanford, NC Campaign. #wedlocalsanfordnc She coordinated a small army of businesses who came together at the majestic Hawkins House Events for a styled wedding shoot. It’s the hope of all these local businesses that her community will try local first as they plan their events.
NICOLE’S VISION:
I came up with this idea over 2 years ago, it woke me out of a dead sleep. Our small town of Sanford, NC has so many great vendors that can produce some beautiful events. So why not use a local event planner, ME, to connect you to all these wonderful vendors, these were my thoughts. When I met with Tom Snell with the Hawkins House, I knew his venue was just the place to pull this off. When walking through the Hawkins House, I could envision small dinner parties, bridal luncheons – tea party, rehearsal dinners, & the perfect spot for the wedding weekend! And that is where the vision started. I wanted to paint the picture of the Wedding Weekend house. The girls could host a bridal luncheon downstairs the day before the wedding, then the groom’s family can host a rehearsal dinner that evening. On the wedding day the girls could get ready upstairs while the guys get dressed downstairs & hang out in the “groom’s lounge”. Small ceremony can be held outside using the beautiful porch & tall columns then transform the “yellow” room into a small, intimate dinner party. Allowing us [Vision Events, NC], we can use our network of Professional Vendors to create any vision. Please check out all the vendors below who’ve gave their time & dedication to make this idea come to life!
